Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas laughed off recent speculation of him returning to England.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has laughed off recent speculation suggesting he would be returning to England and said the idea of leaving Camp Nou is “absurd”.
The Spain international has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the first team since re-joining his boyhood club in 2011, which has fuelled reports that some Premier League clubs might test his resolve about staying in Catalonia.

Former club Arsenal have been linked with a move to try and get him back while champions Manchester United have been credited with a stronger interest as David Moyes looks to strengthen his midfield options.

However, the 26-year-old insists that he remains fully committed to the Primera Liga champions and will not be entertaining any thoughts of leaving the club.

“I’ve always said that I’m happy at Barca,” Fabregas told Marca.
“Whoever says that I’m leaving doesn’t know me and has never spoken with me.

“Nor with my agent, because he knows that I don’t want him to talk with other people about me. I’m very private and I don’t even talk about these things with my family.

“If someone says anything that isn’t that I want to play at Barca, it’s completely absurd.”

Fabregas did actually start 30 league matches for Barca last season but failed to finish 16 of them, while he was subbed three times in six starts in the Catalans’ run to the Champions League semi-finals.
