Leicester star Harry Maguire has shrugged off Matej Vydra’s swipe at him prior to England’s 5-0 thrashing of the Czech Republic.
Burnley striker Vydra suggested Maguire was the weak link in the England side in the build-up to the match.
Maguire started in the England defence on Friday night as the Three Lions secured a convincing 5-0 win, while Vydra came off the bench at the start of the second half for the Czechs.
“Obviously I like to do my talking on the pitch,” Maguire told talkSPORT.
“5-0 and a clean sheet so if it was someone that I looked up to or respected then maybe I would take it in my stride a little bit.
“But for someone who has started the game on the bench, it’s quite incredible really!
“To say it after we’ve just come back off a World Cup semi-final as well. “I’ll just do my talking on the pitch and if he wants to rant around before then I’ll let him do that.”
England head to Montenegro on Monday as they continue their bid to qualify for Euro 2020 and are 1.40 to win, or 34.00 to claim another 5-0 success.
Leicester take on Bournemouth in the next round of Premier League fixtures after the international break and are 1.83 to claim all three points. The Cherries can be backed at 4.33 and a draw is 3.75.
