Erik Sviatchenko has urged his Celtic side to ensure they are mentally prepared for Wednesday’s trip to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Bhoys head to the Highlands eyeing their 22nd straight league victory, a run that has helped them establish a 24-point lead at the top of the standings and remain unbeaten so far this season in domestic football.

Their superiority means Brendan Rodgers’ men could be forgiven for taking their eye off the ball, but Sviatchenko has demanded they maintain their focus.

Celtic are the huge 1.25 favourites to win on Wednesday, with the draw 5.50 and Caley Thistle the 12.00 underdogs.

However, Inverness defeated Rangers 2-1 on Friday and will be desperate to make it a double over the Old Firm in a bid to improve their survival hopes.

The big Dane is expecting a tough test on Wednesday and is keen to ensure his team-mates are ready for the challenge.

He said: “It’s obviously a place we want to win at and we will do everything we can to see if we can get the three points because we always need to be the team that needs to win.

We have been so good lately so we want to do everything we can to keep progressing.

“It is all about the mental preparation and the approach to the games because each one will be important.

It is going to be even more difficult now because we have played so many games and we want to do our best so we need to be sure we are there.”
