Eddie Howe: Junior Stanislas in England frame

Junior-Stanislas-Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes the form of Junior Stanislas this season is pushing the talented winger to a potential England call-up.

Stanislas made the move to Bournemouth from Burnley in 2014 but he initially struggled to make an impact in the first team, appearing just 13 times in the Championship in his debut campaign.

The 26-year-old featured more regularly in the Premier League last term, making 21 outings, and greater playing time would have been seen if not for a combination of injuries.

His form has been brilliant so far this season and a brace in the 6-1 thrashing of Hull City last time out has taken his goal tally to three – matching the amount he achieved in the previous campaign.

The former West Ham youth player, who has played at Under-20 and Under-21 level on the international stage, has been integral to helping the Cherries climb to 11th in the Premier League table and Howe believes a place in the England senior squad is a possibility.

“Junior has done very well this season. The most important thing is he has developed an end product to his work,” he told the Daily Echo.

“Now we are seeing the goals and assists, which I think every wide player is judged on. “He’s going the right way towards (England) recognition.”

Stanislas will be hoping to keep the good run of form going when Bournemouth welcome title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts are the 3.75 outsiders to pick up all three points, a draw is priced at 3.50 while Spurs, who are unbeaten in the league, are 2.00 favourites to triumph.
