Radamel Falcao has revealed that his main focus is helping Colombia to win the Copa America this summer, despite speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea.

The 29-year-old has returned to Monaco after a disappointing season-long loan spell with Manchester United. He only managed to find the back of the net on four occasions in the Premier League for the Red Devils, who decided against signing him on a permanent basis.

Reports are now suggesting that United’s league rivals Chelsea are interested in signing the former Atletico Madrid striker as a replacement for the outward bound Didier Drogba.

Despite such speculation, Falcao insists that he is focused only on the Copa America and will leave any talks of his club future to his agent.

He said: “Is my future at Monaco? Right now I’m thinking only about the Copa, there has been a lot of talk but I am relaxed about it. My agent is the one who takes care of all of that.”

The front man will be looking to spearhead José Pékerman’s side during the tournament in Chile, particularly after injury ruled him out of the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

Colombia are in Group C for the competition, which gets under way on June 11, and will take on Brazil, Peru and Venezuela as they bid to win their second-ever South American title and improve on the quarter-final exit that they suffered when the tournament was last staged in 2011.

Los Cafeteros’ last success in the competition came in 2001 and they are available at 6.50 to repeat that success this time around.
