Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill believes they can avoid relegation and says the sides immediately above them will be looking anxiously over their shoulders.

Chris Ramsey’s side looked destined for life in the Championship next season, but after picking up four points from the last two games, they are still in with a fighting chance.

They remain two points behind Hull City, who sit just outside of the drop zone with a game in hand, but Aston Villa and Sunderland, the other sides above them, are also still involved in the scrap.

QPR are 1.23 favourites to be relegated but Hill says they have got what it takes to get out of trouble despite a tough looking run in, starting with Chelsea this weekend.

“We have dragged teams in to it now, Villa probably thought they could win the game and pretty much put themselves safe,” he said, ahead of Sunday’s visit of the runaway Premier League leaders.

“But we’ve brought another team into it and the pressure goes onto the next game. It’s about the team and players who hold their head and keep calm who will prevail and stay in this league.

“The positive is we have four points from difficult travels and we’re right in the battle now so we’re looking forward to the next game.”

Leicester are priced at 1.33 to go down, Burnley 1.65, Hull 2.50, Sunderland 3.50 and Aston Villa 3.70.
