Christian Benteke says he wants to replicate his impressive international form in the Premier League and help Crystal Palace climb the table.

Benteke was the star of the show in Belgium’s recent 2018 World Cup qualifying victory over Gibraltar, bagging a hat-trick in the 6-0 thumping of the minnows.

The 25-year-old opened his account just seven seconds into the game – the fastest World Cup qualifying goal ever – before adding two more in the 43rd and 56th minutes.

Alex Witsel, Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard also got in on the act as the Red Devils, who are 17.00 to win the tournament in Russia, made it three wins from as many games in Group H.

Domestic action is set to return this weekend and Benteke is looking to continue the goalscoring form when Palace entertain West Ham United on Saturday.

The hosts, who are undefeated in five league games, are the 2.15 favourites, the draw is priced at 3.50 while the Hammers, who are sitting in the relegation zone, are 3.40.

Benteke, who arrived at Selhurst Park from Liverpool this summer, has already bagged three goals in five matches for the Eagles and wants to keeping adding to his tally.

He told Belgian network RTBF: “The last few weeks I feel good and that you see on the field. I want to hold this form at my club.”

Palace, who are 67.00 to finish in the top four this season, are only five points off the Champions League places and another positive result could put them within striking distance.
