QPR manager Chris Ramsey says his team are capable of scrapping their way to a positive result in the west London derby against Chelsea.

Rangers have taken four points on the road in their previous two games, defeating West Brom 4-1 before just failing to get the better of Aston Villa in a 3-3 draw.

Those performances have helped to reignite belief they can maintain their top flight status this season and they face Chelsea knowing a victory would take them out of the relegation zone.

For Ramsey, getting stuck into the battle is going to the most important factor at Loftus Road.

“It’s such a competitive league. We know Chelsea have what it takes to grind out results, as well as taking their performances to another level.

“We need to show the same grit and determination from the last two games,” the QPR boss said.

QPR will have been looking on as fellow strugglers Leicester and Aston Villa both earned crucial away wins on Saturday afternoon.

It means just one point separates the bottom three teams while Hull and Sunderland are within touching distances following their respective defeats on Saturday.

QPR were narrowly defeated at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and the R’s collected four points from six against their neighbours when they were last in the top flight two seasons ago.

Ramsey says they cannot afford to go into the game feeling inferior.

“We are not writing ourselves off in this game, the pressure is on us as we want to stay in the division. We’re going to approach it with the same grit that we’ve showed in the last couple of games,” he added.

QPR are 8.46 to defeat Chelsea, who are 1.39, with the draw 4.71.
