Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes five sides can still win the Premier League title this season despite his team holding a clear advantage at the top of the standings.

The Blues have not lost in 10 matches in all competitions and are unbeaten in the Premier League since a 5-3 defeat to Tottenham on New Year’s Day.

Their form has seen the west Londoners move clear of the chasing pack in the title race, but despite their commanding position the Portuguese boss still believes as many as five sides could claim glory in May.

He said: “It’s still a five [horse race] because the distance is still mathematically possible. The reality is the distance between second, third, fourth, fifth is so short that I look at them and I see that things are open.”

The Blues won the Capital One Cup earlier this month but have been eliminated from both the FA Cup and Champions League already this season and Mourinho has warned his title rivals that his team are fully focused on maintaining their advantage at the top of the league standings.

He continued: “We are in front. The advantage is significant but there’s still a long way to go. We are strong and confident, we believe in our capacity to stay there until the last match but we know we must fight against complacency.”

Next up for the Blues is a trip to the KC Stadium to take on Hull City on Sunday.

The league leaders are heavy favourites to secure their 20th league victory of the campaign at 1.46 whilst the hosts are on offer at 7.69. The draw is available at 3.92.

Following the match in East Yorkshire, Mourinho’s men will face winnable games when they take on Stoke and Queens Park Rangers before they face potentially decisive encounters against Manchester United at home and Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
