Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes his experiences with former club Juventus will help him during his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian has been charged with returning the Blues to the top of the Premier League standings following their dismal tenth place finish last season, and his reign got off to the perfect start, as the West Londoners defeated West Ham 2-1 on Monday night.

The 47-year-old will now be looking to build on that victory over the coming weeks, but he sees the project at Stamford Bridge as being similar to the one he had when first took charge of Juve in 2011.

The Old Lady had finished seventh in the Serie A standings in each of the two seasons prior to Conte’s arrival, but he guided the team to the Scudetto during his first campaign at the helm, before winning two further league titles with the club.

Conte told Chelsea’s official magazine.”Juventus hadn’t won the title for many, many years and at the start it did not appear easy.

I remember that because confidence was low and the players didn’t trust themselves.

“We can see a bit of the same situation now, no? After a bad season, 10th place was no good for the players, confidence was low and the fans weren’t happy with this situation.”

Chelsea are next in action when they travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Saturday and they are priced at 1.73 to win the match, while the Hornets are on offer at 4.75 and the draw is available at 3.60.
