West Brom boss Alan Pardew has confirmed he plans to bring in some new recruits to bolster his struggling squad during the January transfer window.

The Baggies are currently second bottom of the Premier League, without a win of any kind since August, a run of form that ultimately cost former boss Tony Pulis his job.

Pardew was the man who replaced Pulis at the end of November but he has only managed to take four points from his seven matches although they did secure a morale-boosting 1-1 draw with Arsenal last time out.

That point was enough to ensure Albion would not end 2017 bottom of the standings but they are still deep in the relegation mire.

Pardew acknowledges he will need to bolster his squad during the January transfer window to give them a fighting chance of avoiding the drop.

Asked if he needs to freshen up West Brom’s squad, Pardew said: “I do, I think we need to try and move something around.

“So I’ll be working hard with the chairman and sporting director here to do that.”

West Brom are next in action when they travel to the London Stadium to take on fellow strugglers West Ham on Tuesday. Victory would see them leapfrog the Hammers in the standings.

Albion are priced at 4.20 to emerge from the capital with all three points while the hosts are available at 1.95 and the draw is on offer at 3.40.
