Swansea City coach Carlos Carvahal insists he is confident the club can sign “really good players” during the final few days of the January transfer window.

The Swans remain bottom of the Premier League table but their win against Liverpool on Monday has moved them to within four points of safety.

The Welsh outfit have now won their last two games and are on a four-match unbeaten run but some fans are still worried by their lack of options.

Carvahal is confident they can add more bodies to their squad and he believes some fresh faces will make a big impact at the Liberty Stadium.

He told reporters: “I think it is the opposite. In the clubs like us in our situation, it’s more expected that we can bring players in in the last days.

I don’t say this happy or smiling, I’m talking about the reality.

“It’s more expected we’ll bring players in the last days of the transfer window instead of the beginning because at the beginning, the clubs, the players a lot of them want to go to big clubs that are not in the relegation position.

“In the last days, it’s the situation where everyone stays nervous so they expect something and it is in this moment that I think our club and other clubs can bring in really good players.”

Swansea are next in action in the FA Cup when they travel to Notts County on Saturday.

The League Two side are 4.00 to win, with the draw 3.50, while Swansea are priced at odds of 1.91.
