Swansea defender Angel Rangel insists the squad will fight for caretaker boss Leon Britton and says they are feeling more confident after claiming a draw against Crystal Palace.

Britton was placed in temporary charge last week following the sacking of Paul Clement with the club rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

Swansea picked up a point courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday but they failed to budge from the bottom of the top-flight.

The Welsh club are four points from safety ahead of travelling to Liverpool for the late kick off on Boxing Day with Britton set to continue in the dugout.

Rangel says the squad are ready to fight for Britton, who made over 350 appearances for the Swans, and insists they are feeling more confident following Saturday’s performance.

“We all tried to give Leon as much effort as we could against Palace,” Rangel said.

“It is the least you can give to a man who has given everything to this football club. I think we’re going to fight for him.

“We will go into the next few games with a lot more confidence. Now we move on to Liverpool and we will try to get another positive result.”

Swansea have failed to win any of their last three Premier League outings and can be backed at 17.00 to pick up three points on Boxing Day, while Liverpool are priced at 1.17 to pick up a win at Anfield, and the draw is available at 8.00.
