Stoke have completed the signing of highly-rated Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez on loan for the 2017-18 campaign.

The Spaniard is a product of Real Madrid’s academy and went on to make 63 La Liga appearances for the reigning La Liga and European champions.

The majority of his opportunities at the Santiago Bernabeu came from the bench and he secure a 25million Euros move to PSG last summer.

The 24-year-old continued to struggle for regular gametime after moving to the French capital and he was allowed to leave on loan to his hometown club Las Palmas for the second half of last term.

Jese was set to be restricted to a place on the bench at the Parc des Princes this season and he was understood to be on the verge of joining Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal.

However, Stoke, who are priced at 5.50 to be relegated, have now swooped in to add him to their squad for the current campaign and chief executive Tony Scholes has hailed the deal.

Scholes said: “His pedigree speaks for itself. “He hasn’t had the happiest of periods in his career in Paris but he’s still only a young man and is hungry to make a big impression in the Premier League.

“He will most certainly add to the firepower at our disposal.”

Jese arrives at the Bet365 Stadium as Stoke’s sixth signing of the summer following the likes of Bruno Martins Indi, Kurt Zouma, Darren Fletcher, Josh Tymon and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
