Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki said it was dream come true to score his first Premier League hat-trick in the 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Having suffered a 4-1 defeat in their opening game of the season at title-contenders Liverpool, the Canaries responded with a day for their fans to remember against the struggling Magpies at Carrow Road. It’s certainly a day Finnish striker Pukki will never forget as he took home the match ball after a fine hat-trick that condemned Steve Bruce’s side to their second defeat of the campaign.
Having been let go by Danish outfit Brondby back in the summer of 2018, Pukki has now become the main man at Norwich, with his 29 goals last season helping the Canaries back to the top flight. Now with a Premier League hat-trick to his name, the forward admitted it was a dream come true to get the three goals and the three points on Saturday.
“That was one of the best games I’ve had here,” Pukki told the BBC’s Match of the Day programme. “A hat-trick in the Premier League is something I couldn’t even dream of a couple of years ago.” Next up for Norwich is a trip to Europa League winners Chelsea on Saturday.
The Canaries are 3.90 to win, the draw is quoted 3.55 and Chelsea are currently priced 1.88 to to secure their first win under manager Frank Lampard.
