Defender Grant Hanley is keen to remain with Norwich and battle for a place in the starting line-up.

The Scotland international sustained an injury early on in the previous campaign and only managed two Championship appearances after returning in November.

Christoph Zimmermann and Ben Godfrey established themselves as the Canaries’ first-choice pairing at the heart of defence, and Hanley also slipped behind Timm Klose in the pecking order.

There has been plenty if speculation Hanley could move on this summer and he has been heavily linked with a return to former club Blackburn. However, the latest reports claim Hanley has informed Norwich he doesn’t want to leave and hopes to fight for a place in the starting line-up in the Premier League next season.

Manager Daniel Farke may well be happy to keep hold of Hanley going into the new campaign as he focuses on strengthening other areas of his squad.

Farke has already brought in one central defender this summer as 19-year-old Rocky Bushiri made the move from Belgian outfit KV Oostende but he is set to link up with the development squad rather than challenge for a first team place.

Norwich have so far brought in eight new faces, including Switzerland international forward Josip Drmic on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach and winger Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City.

Norwich take on Liverpool at Anfield in the first round of Premier League fixtures and they are 17.00 to secure a win, while a draw is available at 7.50 and Liverpool are 1.17 to win.
