Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has expressed his disappointment in the 1-1 draw against Coventry in the Championship on Saturday at the Carrow Road.
Serbia Midfielder Mario Vrančić gave the Canaries the lead in the first half just before the half-hour as he poked home a penalty.
Unfortunately, the Carrow Road outfit failed to extend their lead, and although they were less than five minutes away from victory, Maxime Biamou equalized for the visitors in the 89th minute.
While the draw didn’t drop Norwich City from the top of the log, Daniel Farke’s side lost a big member of the squad as Max Aarons was pulled off in the match’s final minutes due to injury.
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke confirmed Max Aarons suffered a shin injury as he stayed down after a heavy challenge with Ryan Giles in the build-up to the Sky Blues’ equalizer.
The England Under-21 international will be assessed during the week, but Farke has ruled out the possibility of the player damaging his ankle ligaments.
“I am a bit sick speaking about injuries, It seems like the ankle is alright. That is some good news but it is painful. He was not able to walk on his own and in the changing room it is pretty swollen. We hope it is a contact injury and bruising and in a few days it goes down. The one thing we don’t need is another injury. The ankle seems to be alright but the shin was bloody and swollen. That is the first assessment.” said Farke.
Norwich City will face Luton Town next weekend in the Championship, and Daniel Farke’s side is wrecked with injury as they had only 13 first-team players available before Saturday’s game while the majority of those on the bench were Academy players.
