Tony Mowbray is hoping Blackburn can secure their second away victory in just three days when they travel to Oxford in League One on Tuesday.

Rovers moved into the final playoff position thanks to Saturday’s resounding 3-0 away success against struggling Bury, but they are likely to face a sterner test of their credentials when they take on fellow promotion hopefuls Oxford at the Kassam Stadium.

Mowbray is certainly wary of the threat his side will face during the contest, but he is hopeful they can add to the positivity they have built up following their weekend success.

“On the back of a victory we need to enjoy the feeling of winning and hopefully we can take that good vibe into Oxford on Tuesday night and see if we can keep things rolling along,” Mowbray was quoted as saying on the club website.

Oxford were also big away winners at the weekend, as they defeated Plymouth 4-0, and Mowbray knows his team will have to be up for a battle if they are to return home with all three points.

He added: “Oxford got a great win themselves at the weekend and we’ll go there to play how we play, ask questions and try and get the right result.

“They’ll see it as an opportunity at home and under the lights and we have to be ready for the challenge, have that fighting spirit and desire to win everything.”

Blackburn are unbeaten in their last five league matches and they are priced at 2.10 to secure all three points on Tuesday, while an Oxford win and the draw are both available at 3.40.
