Celtic striker Moussa Dembele believes his side could spring a surprise against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this week following their 5-1 win over Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were under pressure to win on Saturday and they delivered in front of their own fans at Celtic Park.

Dembele scored two goals before half-time before Joe Garner gave Rangers a lifeline and the game was in the balance at 2-1 at half-time.

However, Celtic kicked on in the second half and Scott Sinclair, Dembele and Stuart Armstrong scored to secure a convincing win.

The Hoops now have a two-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership but Dembele is already focusing on their European exploits.

Celtic will travel to Barcelona on Tuesday night, just days after the Spanish champions were beaten 2-1 by newly promoted Alaves at the Nou Camp.

Although the odds are stacked against his side, Dembele believes they can pull off a shock win following their derby win. He told reporters: “We are capable of going to Barcelona and getting a result.

We are going there to give everything to come away with something.

“When you start any game of football, even if it is against the best in the world, you have to show that you belong and give everything to get a result.

“It was the perfect day, to beat Rangers at home, to get the points and to get my first hat-trick. It was something unbelievable and I will remember it all my life.”

Barcelona are the 1.08 favourites to win on Tuesday, with the draw priced at 10.00 and Celtic available at 21.00 with Dafabet.
