Burnley have bolstered their attacking ranks by completing the signing of forward Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

The England Under-21 international becomes the Clarets’ fourth senior signing of the summer following the arrival of Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Nick Pope and Steven Defour at Turf Moor.

The 22-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut at Stamford Bridge but he is expected to challenge Andre Gray and Sam Vokes for a starting birth in Lancashire.

The former Nottingham Forest youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich, where he made seven Premier League appearances, while he has also featured in the top-flight for Crystal Palace.

Bamford enjoyed the best spell of his career to date on loan at Middlesbrough during the 2014-15 campaign, where he scored 17 goals in 40 league appearances, a run of form that saw him named the divisional player of the year for the season.

The frontman will now be hoping to recapture that form under the guidance of Sean Dyche as Burnley have only managed to score two goals in their opening four matches of the new season in all competitions.

The Clarets are next in action when they take on fellow Premier League new boys Hull on home soil after the international break.

Burnley are on offer at 2.30 to win the match while the Tigers are priced at 3.25 and the draw is available at 3.00.
