Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that striker Andre Gray is not guaranteed a place in the starting XI against Manchester United after his suspension.

The former Brentford man will be available following his four-match ban from the Football Association regarding tweets he made several years ago.

The Clarets returned to winning ways on Saturday without Gray, with Scott Arfield scoring a late winner to secure a 2-1 win over Everton.

Dyche’s side also beat Watford without Gray and they were also seconds away from securing a draw against Arsenal at Turf Moor.

With Gray playing such a huge role at the club in recent months, he was expected to return to the first XI for the clash with the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Saturday.

However, Dyche has kept United counterpart Jose Mourinho guessing by admitting he is a fan of the current formation.

He told the Burnley Express: “We’ve enjoyed the way we’ve looked at it, I changed it at Leicester, before Andre’s absence, so it wasn’t because of it.

“I felt the team needs to be flexible in its planning, and I’ve been quite pleased with the way it’s gone, more like a 4-4-1-1.

There is still scope to change it back, I do like playing with two centre-forwards, but it’s nice to know we have that flexibility when we need it.”

Burnley are 17.00 to win away in Manchester this weekend, with the draw 6.00, while Mourinho’s team can be backed at odds of 1.20.
