Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic insists his focus is purely on the team’s fortunes despite speculation linking him with a move away from the Bundesliga club.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a superb start to the campaign, helping Dortmund reach the top of the league table.

BVB sit four points clear of Borussia Monchengladbach, while bitter rivals Bayern Munich are seven points behind after Dortmund’s 3-2 win over the Bavarians before the international break.

Pulisic has scored one goal in seven appearances so far this season but his performances have caught the eye of Chelsea and other European giants.

He captained the USA in a friendly against Italy on Tuesday night and insists he wants to wait until January before sitting down with the club’s hierarchy to talk.

“I’m still focused on Dortmund. We are doing great this season,” Pulisic told NBC Sports.

“Once the break comes [in January], that is always when I will have to discuss with Dortmund and see about my future.”

Pulisic joined Dortmund at 16 and has scored 15 goals in 107 appearances. While he wants to discuss a move in just over a month’s time, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is hoping to keep him until at least June.

He told Kicker earlier this week: “We have known these rumours for many years. We plan at least until the end of the season with him.”

Dortmund are priced at 1.95 to win the title this season, while Munich are 1.91 favourites despite the mounting pressure on coach Niko Kovac.
