Striker Wilfried Bony insists he is only focused on Stoke City for the time being, rather than thinking about his future at parent club Manchester City.
The Ivory Coast international joined the Potters on Deadline Day on a season-long loan deal after failing to impress Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
He made his first appearance in last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham but boss Mark Hughes believes he will find his form once the powerful forward has played a number of games.
Bony has echoed Hughes’ comments and he is hopeful he can rediscover the form he showed at Swansea a few years ago.
The 27-year-old has confirmed he had other loan offers before joining Stoke and he insists he is only thinking about the Potters at the moment.
He told Sky Sports: “I spoke to my agent and to Pep [Guardiola], and to me it was clear to have the opportunity to play one season without an injury.
I had the opportunity to come here [to Stoke] and to play, and that was the best thing.
“I have a contract with Man City. I am on loan here and I want to do my best, so I am focused on Stoke.
The rest I don’t know what will happen but the most important thing for me is to focus on where I am now. “I can do better and start playing again.
I can start enjoying football, which was important for me to come here.”
