Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has made his first two signings of the summer after bringing in free agents Sacha Petshi and Bangaly-Fode Koita.
Rovers are not allowed to actually buy any players but they can bring in free transfers which is precisely what they have done as they continue to operate under an embargo.
Frenchman Petshi was on the pre-season trip to Portugal and also played in a friendly with Accrington earlier this month.
He has impressed Bowyer enough to be handed a 12-month deal with the option of another year for the former Bastia player.
“I’m very happy to sign for Blackburn,” Petshi told the club’s official website. “It is a good club, with good facilities and a good team.
“It has always been my goal to play in England. I love English football and I think my physique will suit the English game.”
Striker Koita has penned a two-year deal and is also looking forward to sampling English football.
“I’m very happy to be here, it is my dream to play in England and now my dream has come true,” said Koita.
Petshi played in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Crewe on Tuesday which saw Rudy Gestede return to the side after recovering from a knock.
Rovers start the season against Wolves on August 8 and are 2.50 to pick up a win at Ewood Park.
