Blackburn boss Paul Lambert is delighted his side have been drawn against Premier League opposition in the FA Cup fifth round.

Rovers will face either West Ham or Liverpool in the last 16 of the competition, after they comfortably despatched of League Two side Oxford in Saturday’s fourth round.

The two Premier League teams drew 0-0 at Anfield in their fourth round clash, with the replay set to take place at Upton Park on February 9.

The Blue and Whites were defeated by Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the same competition 12 months ago, but Lambert believes it is a brilliant draw, whoever his side end up facing at Ewood Park.

He said: “It’s a brilliant draw and a massive game whoever we get. We know that we are getting a Premier League team coming to Ewood Park and hopefully we’ll have a full house.”

“The result at Oxford provided us with the opportunity to get a game of such stature, and it’s great financially and for the fans.”

The fifth round tie will take place over the weekend of February 19-21, but before the Lancashire outfit can fully turn their attention to cup success, they must first negotiate league fixtures away at Middlesbrough and at home to Hull and Fulham.

Blackburn will first travel to the Riverside Stadium to take on Boro on Saturday, and they are available at 6.00 to win the match, whilst Aitor Karanka’s promotion hopefuls are on offer at 1.57 and the draw is priced at 3.75.
