Blackburn Rovers earned a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Ewood Park on Saturday and boss Gary Bowyer was full of praise for on-loan Leicester man Tom Lawrence.

The 21-year-old scored Rovers’ goal with a cross-shot that found its way into the back of the net only 13 minutes after Lasse Vibe had given Lee Carsley’s side the lead at Ewood Park.

Lawrence has impressed while on loan from Leicester this season and the Wales international is reportedly being eyed up by several potential suitors, including Spanish giants Valencia.

He has made just one start and three appearances from the bench since joining Leicester from Manchester United in September 2014 and his loan at Ewood Park is due to end in January, when interest in him could really ramp up.

Bowyer’s side have won only one of their last six matches, but are unbeaten in three, and sit 16th in the Championship table. The boss hailed their fighting spirit as they dug in for a point, but he was also full of praise for their goalscorer.

Speaking of Lawrence, he said: “He’s a wonderful player, a joy to watch. He’s one of these players that when he picks the ball up, half-turns and starts running, you get off the edge of your seat because you know something’s going to happen.

“I think today in the second half, he had a couple of runs and looked like he would make something happen. He’s a fabulous talent.”

Blackburn are priced at 15.00 to suffer relegation from the Championship this season and 26.00 to be celebrating promotion come the final day of the campaign.
