West Ham coach Slaven Bilic conceded that his team had embarrassed the club and their fans following their 4-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
The Hammers were no match for the Baggies at the Hawthorns on Saturday, with Nacer Chadli scoring a brace for his new club.
Striker Salomon Rondon also grabbed a goal as did James McClean, as Tony Pulis’ men stormed into a 4-0 lead.
Bilic’s men did show some fight with Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini scoring in the second half but West Ham were never in the contest.
West Ham have now lost their last three Premier League games, as well as being dumped out of the Europa League.
Saturday’s defeat leaves them 17th in the league and Bilic admits his team deserved to get beaten.
“Crazy game. It was a crazy game. It was a great game for them. They deserved to win the game,” he told reporters.
“Going forward in the first half it was just poor position without creating many chances.
But in the second half we showed good football and we dominated the second half.
“The problem is you can’t expect anything from the game when you are 3-0 down and make so many mistakes both as a team and individually.
“I felt very embarrassed myself and I’m sure the players too because we let the club down.”
The Hammers will now take on Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup before trying to bounce back in the league against Southampton on Sunday September 25.
The Saints are the 2.50 favourites, with the draw 3.25, while West Ham are priced at 2.75.
