Manchester City’s Gareth Barry admitted he is disappointed that Carlos Tevez has left the club and joined Juventus.
The Argentine was in Italy for a medical and to finalise his deal on Wednesday after Juventus agreed a fee for the forward, thought to be around £10m up front.
The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal and will be handed the number 10 shirt when he is officially unveiled as Juventus player on Thursday.
Tevez had been expected to leave City this summer after several turbulent years in England and the striker is thought to have rejected a move to AC Milan. He had spells at West Ham and Manchester United before joining City.
Tevez was instrumental in helping the Blues lift the Premier League and FA Cup in his four years with the club.
Barry admits City will miss the forward and believes he will succeed in Italy next season.
He said: “It will be a massive loss for Manchester City. He has had a fantastic few years there and he has been fantastic to play alongside.
“To hear that news is quite sad but he will go and do a great job wherever he goes.”
