Scott Sinclair has stressed Celtic are not afraid of Barcelona’s big names ahead of their Champions League trip to Camp Nou.

The Scottish champions face the Catalan giants on Tuesday night following a 5-1 Old Firm derby rout of Rangers at the weekend.

Barcelona are seeking a response after a shock 2-1 defeat – at Camp Nou – to newly-promoted Alaves on Saturday but coach Luis Enrique did rest some of his big names for that clash.

Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta all appeared from the bench against Alaves but the star trio are expected to be restored to the starting side on Tuesday.

However, Sinclair says Celtic are ready to compete against whoever Enrique calls upon and he insists his side can get a result against the La Liga giants.

He told the Scotsman: “The big names don’t spook players. “It’s a challenge because you are facing the world’s best.

As players, you want that test and there is not really much better you can face than Barcelona. “Each team has 11 players, so all we can do is try to complete our job and see what we can get from the match.

“Our spirit is so high right now and so is the togetherness in the camp. You can see it on the pitch with everyone fighting for each other, every second ball.

If we keep that spirit, we can keep winning games.” Celtic are 19.00 to win Tuesday’s Champions League encounter and Sinclair, who has five goals in seven outings so far this season, is 23.00 to score first.

He added: “The form we are in with wins, it’s great for spirit. We go to the Nou Camp with nothing to lose. No-one is expecting us to win 5-1, but we just go there and do the best that we can do.

“We have got the belief to there and try to perform. The spirit is what we need and all we can do is give it 100 per cent.”
