Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas admitted that Gareth Bale’s world-record move to Real Madrid could happen ‘very, very soon’.

After months of speculation it looks as though the Welshman will be heading to Madrid despite reported interest from elsewhere, and Villas-Boas admits it could be wrapped up in the next couple of days.

Talks are still ongoing between Spurs and Real and a deal has yet to be rubberstamped but Villas-Boas is resigned to losing his star man.

“At the moment the two clubs are speaking – Tottenham and Real Madrid
– to outline the final decisions or statements of contracts,”
Villas-Boas said.

“I am not sure how much time it will take. It could happen very, very soon.

“But it might not happen so soon so I suppose it could go to the last days or it could happen in the next two days.”

Meanwhile Villas-Boas is unhappy with the fact that Bale has failed to show up for training on the last two days and he could be hit with a club fine before he leaves White Hart Lane.

“He is involved in a big transfer move to Real Madrid and in the end if it happens, we wish him all the best, but the fact that he hasn’t turned up is not the correct behaviour,” he added.

“That is the position they (Bale and his representatives) chose to take and it’s up to the club to decide if it’s a fineable offence.”
