Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has called for his side to find some consistency as they prepare to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Potters have had some eye-catching results in the league so far this campaign, the latest of which came at the Britannia on Saturday when they defeated Arsenal 3-2.

The result against the Gunners was not just a flash in the pan as it followed up victories away at Tottenham and reigning champions Manchester City, as well as impressive performances in the recent narrow defeats to Liverpool and Manchester United.

These results have been almost cancelled out by Mark Hughes’ men’s inability to beat the sides in and around or even below them in the table, with Stoke priced at 12.00 to be relegated.

Home defeats to promoted teams Leicester and Burnley as well as Aston Villa have left the Staffordshire club struggling in 13th place, and Begovic feels they need to take the same intensity they have in the so called big games into every fixture they play.

The 27-year-old said: “We’re searching for that little bit of consistency where we can play against every team the way we have in those big games, so that’s something we have to work on.”

The former Portsmouth player has been a constant subject of speculation in recent months having been linked with a number of England’s top clubs. But the Bosnia international has revealed he is happy at the Britannia and is keen to continue improving his game.

He went on to say: “I’m just enjoying playing here and trying to get better all the time. It’s flattering to see yourself linked with certain clubs, but at the moment I’m just really focused on what I’m trying to do here.”
