Mesut Ozil insists Arsenal can still win the Premier League title this season despite the fact his side sits third in the table.

The Gunners currently trail league leaders Leicester by 11 points but they do have a game in hand.

Arsenal have eight games to try and turn their fortunes around with the pressure currently on manager Arsene Wenger.

The north Londoners were top of the table at the start of the year but they have won just once in their last four league games and have also been knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League, but Ozil is refusing to give up.

The Germany international admits that Leicester deserve to be top but believes they could still falter.

“I do not think it impossible,” Ozil told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag. “Although there are only a few games left, Leicester have a run against some of the big teams to come.

“We ourselves must in any case not allow any more slip-ups. The hope of the title is still there – we have the players for the title.

“They deserve to be up there – Leicester fight for every point. Leicester have been great but there are still a few games. I think we still have a chance to catch up Leicester. We must, of course, hope for mistakes.”

Arsenal are now 7.00 to win the Premier League while the Foxes are the heavy favourites at 1.57.
