Arsenal Koscielny retains title belief

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is convinced his side can still win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners are currently nine points behind runaway league leaders Chelsea, but they did bounce back from consecutive defeats with a hard fought 1-0 victory over West Brom at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day.

France international Koscielny is now hoping his side can build on that victory and he sees no reason why they cannot end the season as champions.

“The confidence will come back when you win and the most important thing now is to continue to win games in a row so that hopefully we can get into the first position,” he told the club’s website.

The centre back believes Arsenal have already proved their ability to bounce back from defeat this season, pointing to their 4-3 loss to Liverpool on the opening day of the campaign, as they responded to that result with a 14-match unbeaten run in the top-flight.

He added: “We lost the first game of the season and we came back with a good run and a lot of wins. We lost two games in a week last week and it was very important to come back with a win.”

Arsenal will be hoping to make it back-to-back league wins when they take on Crystal Palace on home soil on New Year’s Day.

Arsene Wenger’s men are available at 1.30 to secure a victory against the Eagles, who are priced at 9.50, while the draw is on offer at 5.50.
