Bayern Munich forward Arjen Robben has stressed he is not looking to leave the German giants following speculation linking him with a switch to Manchester United.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal signed Robben during his time as manager Bayern and also worked with the winger when he was in charge of the Netherlands.

There have been claims the Dutchman is looking to bring Robben to Old Trafford, but the 31-year-old insists he is happy in Munich.

“I never thought about a transfer [away from Bayern],” he told a Bayern supporters’ club event. “I am happy in Munich; my family is happy in Munich.

“My contract runs until 2017. You can’t look too far forward in football, but everything is fine at the moment – I hope things continue this way.”

Van Gaal has also been linked with Bayern’s Thomas Muller although it remains to be seen whether or not the Germany international can be convinced to move to the Premier League.

United are expected to strengthen their attacking options in the new year regardless of whether or not they can snare either Muller or Robben after struggling in front of goal this season.

The Old Trafford outfit have managed 20 goals in 14 Premier League games to date – 10 less than current pacesetters Manchester City.

United are 1.44 to beat West Ham in the next round of Premier League fixtures and 5.50 to win the Premier League outright.
