Barcelona star Andres Iniesta is adamant he will not be joining former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City despite recent speculation.

The 32-year-old has spent his entire career with the Catalan giants, winning plenty of silverware along the way.

Iniesta played under Guardiola for four years at the Spanish giants and was a key cog in his midfield that won the treble in 2009.

The Spain international has yet to be offered a new contract extension, however, with his current deal set to expire in 2018.

Barcelona confirmed earlier this week that Sergio Busquets has signed a new five-year deal but Iniesta is still waiting.

That has led to speculation he could move to the Etihad Stadium but the playmaker has claimed that not even Guardiola could tempt him to leave the Nou Camp.

He told Spanish radio station COPE: “Guardiola knows what I think, what I want, and my desire is ending my career here, like I’ve said many times.

“I’m very clear about what I say and what I think, everybody knows it. “I would love to end my career at Barcelona.

I have a contract until 2018. We will have to ask the directors whether they want to extend my contract. But I can only repeat that I want to retire at Barcelona.”

Iniesta will line up for Barca on Saturday when they travel to Sporting Gijon and they are priced at 1.29 to win. The hosts can be backed at odds of 12.00 while the draw is 6.00.
