Coach Alan Curtis has admitted Swansea need some new signings soon as everyone at the club is starting to grow a little impatient with the lack of summer arrivals.

The Swans, who are priced at 5.00 to be relegated this season, have seen Alberto Paloschi leave for Atalanta, Eder join Lille and Bafetimbi Gomis head to Marseille on loan.

Mananger Francesco Guidolin is desperate to add some firepower to his squad as he looks to keep the Liberty Stadium outfit in the Premier League.

The Italian was hoping to bring Joe Allen back to the club earlier in the summer but Stoke won the race for his signature from Liverpool.

Reports recently have claimed that Swansea are keen on Leicester forward Leonardo Ulloa and Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente, while Stoke’s Peter Crouch has also been linked.

Curtis insists the failure to bring in Allen has left everyone feeling impatient and feels it is crucial they start adding reinforcements to the senior squad sooner rather than later.

“I suppose we are all a little impatient, I guess even more so as we didn’t bring in Joe Allen,” he said.

“I think there is a lot of frustration, with the supporters but also with the players and maybe the board themselves. We all know there is a need for us to bring people in now.

“The squad is getting stronger, but at this time of year there is an impatience to bolster the squad with a big-name signing and we are no different.

“I think the players like to see [other] players coming through the dressing room.”

He added: “Hopefully we can strengthen. There is two weeks to go now before the season starts and hopefully before the start of the season, of the players we are looking to bring in, someone will come through the door.”
