David Alaba and Thomas Mueller scored for Bayern Munich and took control of Champions League tie against Juventus with a 2-0 victory.

The hosts pulled away with a blistering start as they scored in the first 25 seconds in the Allianz Arena. Alaba took a long-range effort which deflected off Arturo Vidal and beat Gianluigi Buffon.

Trying to mount an answer, Andrea Pirlo’s free kick went over before Toni Kroos had to be replaced by Arjen Robben due to an injury.

The substitute made his presence felt and immediately tested the Italian goalkeeper. From then on the Bavarians dominated and created chances throughout the contest.

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s free kick barely went over before Robben attacked again and almost doubled their lead.

Things went the same in the second half, with Bayern pressing as Mario Mandzukic fired a shot from right but Buffon was able to save from the near post.

With their persistence, the hosts finally got their second goal in the 63rd minute after Buffon’s save from Luiz Gustavo’s shot only found Mandzukic who set-up Muller for a simple tap-in.

They play their second leg in Italy next Wednesday.
