Amir Khan was quick to demand a fight with Floyd Mayweather after cruising to a points victory against Luis Collazo in Las Vegas.

The Bolton-born star returned to the ring at welterweight after taking more than a year out following his win over Julio Diaz.

He showed no signs of ring-rust as he knocked Collazo down three times on his way to a unanimous points win.

Two scorecards of 119-104, and one of 117-106 ensured Khan won the WBC and WBA international titles. His immense speed was evident from the outset and he sent Collazo down to the canvas with a right hand in the fourth round.

Both fighters were deducted points during the fight, but Khan bounced back from his deduction to send Collazo crashing again on two occasions during the 10th round.

The win put Khan back on the map for some blockbuster fights, but he only has one name in mind after the fight. After missing out on Mayweather this time around, he is dreaming of a big-money fight in his next contest.

“Styles make fights and I really believe I have the style to trouble Floyd Mayweather,” he told Showtime in his post-fight interview.

“Collazo has been beaten but it was always a really close fight (against Shane) Mosley and (Andre) Berto.

“One thing about me training with Virgil Hunter. He taught me some things and I put them together tonight.”
