Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has praised LeBron James’ decision to swap Cleveland Cavaliers for Los Angeles Lakers during the off-season.
James opted to leave the Cavs for the second time in his career following their defeat to Golden State in last season’s NBA Finals and he ultimately opted to join a Lakers team that appear to be on the up despite their failure to make the playoffs in each of the last five years.
The move to California will also see James come up against old rivals Golden State in the Western Conference next term, something that may concern the reigning NBA champions, although small forward Durant is not worried and he has instead praised his rival’s decision to join the Lakers.
“I loved it (James’ decision. I absolutely loved it, Durant told For The Win.
“I thought it was the perfect decision, perfect move, did everything he was supposed to do in Cleveland.
“I think this is the perfect next step for him, and he’s kinda breaking down the barriers of what an NBA superstar is supposed to be. “You feel like you’re just supposed to play it out in one spot.
I think he did a good job of giving different chapters. I think it’s gonna make his book even more interesting when it’s done.”
James has a job on his hands if he is to add to his own personal tally of three NBA titles during his time with the Lakers, as Luke Walton’s side are priced at 10.00 to win the championship next term.
