After the league assessed Fragrant 1 foul for striking LeBron James, GSW’s forward has been suspended for Game 5 on Monday. NBA announces the decision today in response to the Game 4 incident involving both players.

During the game, Draymond Green and LeBron James got tangled up near the center of the court. While James was on the ground, Green was caught swinging his arms which resulted to hitting James. Reviewing the records, Green has already accumulated 4 fragrant fouls in his postseason which include kicking OKC’s center Steven Adams and with another foul triggers automatic suspension and a fine of $25,000. The other two fragrant fouls include throwing Rockets forward Michael Beastley to the ground and kicking the guard Kyrie Irving in the chest during the previous game.

In an interview with Kiki VanDeWeghe NBA Vice President, he then explained that the league’s cumulative points system is designed to deter fragrant fouls in a single game. “While Green’s actions in Game 4 do not merit a suspension as standalone act, number of fragrant points he earned triggers suspension for Game 5,” he added.

On the other hand, Green’s teammate Andrew Bogut stood tall accusing that James instigated the trashtalks when he stepped over Green on the court. “I’ve been in the same situation before and I think it’s a lottery decision like a draft. They pull out a ping-pong ball and make a decision,”he said. “You don’t let anybody walk over you. If someone walks over me, I’m getting up the same way” Bogut added.

On the other hand, Lebron James cited in an interview that he was just trying to get back into the play. “I think what happened with Green was intentional. I knew we got into the grapple at the top of the key but me just trying to get back into the play.” Cavs power forward added.

Golden State Warriors leads the series at 3-1 in the NBA Finals best of 7. However, losing a vital cog like Green could be a difficult situation for them especially in terms of defensive plays. The hard part is that Green now faces a difficult situation. Would he still shows up and runs the risk of losing $140,000 and watch his teammates losing or would he miss out the championship celebration?
