Cavs Stay Alive at 3-2 Over Warriors On Game 5 of NBA Finals

Game 5 NBA FInals Cavs 3-2 Warriors

While Draymond Green missing in action for Golden State Warriors, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have their opening and perhaps the best chance to fight back into the best of 7 series of NBA Finals.

As Game 5 continues, Golden State Warriors leading at 3-1 are looking forward for plans on defensive plays without the All-star wingman does the rebounds and in-depth dispersions. It’s the first time that GSW play without a true big man on the floor.

During the first quarter, it’s Tristan Thompson vs. Andrew Bogut on the jump ball. GSW gains the first ball possession but results to bad pass turnover. Ball back to Cavs but a loss ball turnover picks up by Andre Igouadala and makes the first 2points of the game. GSW leads by 6points (highest lead of the quarter) But, LeBron ties up the score at 22-22 nailing 25-foot 3-pointer. Q1 ends at 29-32 in favor of the Warriors.

2nd quarter starts by a driving dunk courtesy of Richard Jefferson cutting the lead by 1 point (31-31). At the 10-minute mark, Kyrie Irving throws a 28-foot 3-pointer getting the lead back to Cavs at (36-32).

While exchanging of turnovers happen in both teams, Shaun Livingston executes a driving dunk and the scores tied at 38. Meantime, Klay Thompson heats up from behind the arc nailing 3-pointers of his three. 23 points for Klay Thompson. As we reach the 1-minute mark, LeBron makes a driving dunk and ties the game at 61 via free-throw point.

Fire vs Fire happens in the third quarter. Curry scores for Warriors and his (16 points). On the other hand, LeBron fires back with a 26 ft. 3-pointer and his (28pts). J.R Smith and Tristan Thompson bunch of rebounds highly help Cavs sustain the points and defensive plays. Passed the 8-minute mark, Kyrie Irving heats up and throws points from behind the arc and his 29 points of the night.

The lead is starting to blown up by 10 points but Andre Igoudala has the answer cutting the lead down by 6points 80-86 in favor of Cleveland. LeBron James makes another jumper and Harrison Barnes ends the quarter at 94-84 still in favor of Cavs.

Stephen Curry throws 26ft jumper in the opening of the 4th quarter. Cavs lead cut by 8 points. Series of offensive rebounds reap by Golden State Warriors but most are misses from key players. At nearly reaching the 10-minute mark Andrew Igoudala makes a 15ft jumper and cuts the lead to 7 points at 90-97.

On the other hand, Kevin Love is doing great defense when he blocks a 10ft jumper from Klay Thompson. Lebron missing the shots and fortunately Kyrie Irving scores and draws foul making the Cavs lead up by 10 at 102-92. With LeBron struggling on the paint, Kyrie Irving continues to score making the highest lead at 109-96.

Warriors try to cope up with the lead via 3-point scoring but misses coming from Harrison Barnes and Brandon Rush. Cavs lead continues to break out courtesy of LeBron’s jumper and a foul at 112-96.

In the final seconds bench players entered the game and fortunately Cavs manage to survive the danger zone at 3-1 with the Final score 112-97. GSW still leads the series at 3-2 and will face Cleveland in their home court on June 16, 2016.
