Australia’s Neil Robertson will look to continue his good run of form when he takes on Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen in the semi-finals of the Tour Championship.

The 37-year-old has enjoyed a superb campaign to date and he has moved up to world number eight as a result.

Robertson won the Riga Masters in July before reaching the final of the International Championship, where he lost 10-5 to Friday’s opponent Allen.

He won his Championship League Group 1 with ease before reaching the semi-finals of The Masters and then the final of the Players Championship.

Robertson also won the Welsh Open in February and he proved too much for Mark Selby during his first match of the Tour Championship.

He won 9-8 earlier this week and as a result he remains the 1.73 favourite to beat Allen. Allen is only a slight outsider at odds of 2.10 and he has also impressed in recent months.

The 33-year-old reached the semi-finals of the Players Championship earlier this month, while he also tasted victory in the Scottish Open.

Allen beat Shaun Murphy in the final back in December and he should relish the big occasion on Friday. Allen and Robertson have met three times since October 2018 and the bad news for Robertson is that his rival has won all three.

Victories at the International Championship, Champion of Champions and UK Championship will give Allen plenty of confidence ahead of Friday’s battle.
