Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says he is delighted to see Eden Hazard join the club and is in no doubt he is a “world class” talent.

Hazard finally completed his long, protracted move from Chelsea last week in a move the Belgian had been seeking for some time.

The 28-year-old will join the Bernabeu club as the latest Galactico signing for a fee which is initially thought to be around £100million but could rise to £150million if certain clauses are adhered to.

He leaves Chelsea after seven successful years at Stamford Bridge in which he has won multiple Premier Leagues, Europa Leagues, FA Cups and EFL Cups – though the Champions League is something that has always evaded him.

Hazard has been brought to Real Madrid to help re-energise their squad, with Zinedine Zidane returning midway through last season with the promise of a huge budget to take them back to the top of the pyramid in Spain after a disastrous 2018-19 season.

And, Ramos, himself subject of speculation a few weeks ago before clarifying his future, admits he is looking forward to playing with the tricky wide man.

“He is coming to play with us, we were already here, right? I’m happy,” he joked to reporters. “I think it’s a great signing. He is a world-class player. It is good to reinforce the squad.”

Hazard’s signing will undoubtedly boost Los Blancos hopes of a fifth Champions League title in seven years and they can be backed at 8.00 to lift it once more.
