Connections say they have no definite plans for Ulysses following his victory at Goodwood.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old grabbed a maiden win at Newbury in May but then disappointed in the Epsom Derby.
The three-year-old came in 12th in the famous Flat race – 23 lengths adrift of impressive winner Harzand – but bounced back by claiming the Gordon Stakes, edging out The Major General.
There are a few options out there for Ulysses but Alan Cooper, racing manager for the owners Flaxman Stables Ireland, says there is no definitive plan for Stoute’s charge at this stage.
“We were delighted with him at Goodwood and he’s come out of the race in good shape, so hopefully we can go forward from here,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
“We are in no hurry to make any definite plans. He’s in the Great Voltigeur at York and there’s also the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano at Deauville.
“There are plenty of options and we will let Sir Michael decide what he thinks is the best option for the horse.
“Meanwhile, Postponed is the current 4.00 favourite ahead of the Juddmonte International at York on August 17.”
Time Test is 5.00 and The Gurkha can be backed at 6.00, while Found is 15.00 to get back to winning ways after three consecutive Group One second place finishes with jockey Ryan Moore.
