Patrick Reed has been pleased with his consistent form during 2016 as he goes in search of his first victory of the season at this week’s Travelers Championship.

The American has finished in the top ten at eight events already this season, although he is still chasing an illusive first win of the campaign, with his last success on the PGA Tour coming at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in January 2015.

The 25-year-old has also impressed at the final two majors of the year, following up a tie for 12th at the Open with a share of 13th at last week’s US PGA Championship.

The world number 14 is delighted with the progress he has shown in recent months, but he believes there is still room for improvement.

“My game I feel like is trending in the right direction,” Reed said. “There are a lot of good things I’ve been doing, especially on consistency.

This year kind of has shown that with having the most Top 10s I’ve had in a season. “I feel like I’m hitting the ball decent.

I wouldn’t say I’m hitting it exactly how I want to, but it’s good enough to get the ball on the fairway and on the greens.”

The Ryder Cup hopeful is now aiming to end his wait for a title in Connecticut this week, where he will play his first two rounds of the tournament alongside compatriots Matt Kuchar and Bubba Watson.

He added: “The main thing for me is keep moving forward. My time will come, so I just need to keep improving every aspect of the game, and hopefully I’ll be in the winners’ circle.”

Reed is available at 21.00 to win the Travelers Championship, while he is on offer at 29.00 to be the outright leader after Thursday’s opening round at TPC at River Highlands.
