Lotus driver Romain Grosjean is determined to finish the Formula One campaign on a high note having secured podium finishes in the last three races.
The 27-year-old French driver has been in impressive form since the German Grand Prix in mid-July which was around the time it was revealed that team-mate Kimi Raikkonen would be departing to take Felipe Massa’s seat at Ferrari in 2014.
Grosjean wants to extend his contract with Lotus and become their number one driver next season and successive third-place finishes in Korea, Japan and India have done his chances no harm.
However, with three races remaining, starting with this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Grosjean will not be taking his foot off the pedal as he now has the taste of some success.
“I’ll come with the same philosophy as those last few races to give and do my best. I’ve finished on the podium in Korea, Japan and India. It’s a good feeling being there,” he said.
“Certainly in this latter part of the season, our latest car with the revised Pirelli tyres seems to work very well and I can get a good performance from it at different circuits.
“I only want to be scoring points for the team and you get the most points from being on the podium!”
