Jonny Evans has praised West Brom‘s ability to win ugly this season and is hoping his side can build on their recent successes.

The Baggies have racked up back-to-back victories against Sunderland and Norwich – both courtesy of a 1-0 scoreline – and the results have lifted the club to 10th in the table.

Fears of being dragged into a relegation battle are well and truly in the back of the players’ minds now and hopes of continuing their rise up the league are high.

It is fair to say the performances have not been the most inspiring from West Brom this term and they are the lowest scorers with just eight goals recorded.

Solid defensive displays have helped to set up the narrow victories and, with just 11 conceded, they have one of the Premier League’s best records at the back.

Evans, who has been a key member since arriving at the Hawthorns this summer from Manchester United, is pleased to see the team grinding out results and is hopeful of continuing their good run of form.

Evans said: “Sometimes it’s not always pretty, but we’ve managed to grind it out and we want to build some confidence on the back of that.”

Next up is a home clash against Leicester City on Saturday and the hosts will be aiming for their fifth win in their last six meetings against Claudio Ranieri’s men.

The Foxes did win the most recent encounter 3-2 and, after a fantastic start to the season which sees them occupy fifth place, they are slight favourites at 2.60 to grab all three points.

Tony Pulis’ men are priced at 2.80 to rack up a third consecutive win while the draw is at 3.25.
