Wales boss Chris Coleman admits he is trying to keep a positive mindset despite his team being held to a 1-1 draw by Georgia on Sunday night.
Coleman’s men were hoping to pick up all three points on home soil in Cardiff after drawing 2-2 with Austria in Vienna on Thursday.
Wales got off to the perfect start as Gareth Bale’s first-half header gave them the lead in their World Cup qualifier. However, Georgia, who showed their potential against the Republic of Ireland, bounced back and continued to plug away in the second-half.
Jano Ananidze and Valeri Qazaishvili both hit the crossbar and Levan Mchedlidze missed a golden opportunity but Tornike Okriashvili eventually grabbed the equaliser in the second-half.
With Georgia’s chances, Wales could have easily left the stadium with nothing and Coleman was eager to remind his players of that after the full-time whistle.
He told Sky Sports: “People will look at it as two points dropped but it might be a point gained at the end of the day, in the second half.
“We got a great start but you’ve got to take care of business. We didn’t and we were punished, we tried to come again but it was too late, they’d got a bit of confidence by then. “It’s not the end of the world.
There’s a lot to play for; it’s only three games in.” Sunday’s draw leaves Wales in third in Group D, two points behind Ireland and Serbia after their wins over the weekend.
