Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out the possibility of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris leaving White Hart Lane for Manchester United or anybody else this summer.

The 28-year-old France international, who joined Spurs from Lyon in 2012, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as the future of United’s current number one David De Gea remains uncertain with Real Madrid keen to take him back to Spain.

It is being suggested that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal will make a bid for Lloris if De Gea returns to his homeland, but Pochettino is adamant that his star player will be staying in north London.

“There have been a lot of rumours, but Hugo wants to stay with us and we are happy with him too,” Pochettino told reporters.

“He is happy and everything else is just rumour.”

The Argentinian tactician’s hopes of keeping Lloris could be scuppered by the player himself as the £25million-rated shot-stopper has reportedly told the club that he wants to play Champions League football next term – something which would be on offer at United.

Tottenham are 67.00 to win the Premier League next season, while United can be backed at 5.50.
