Tony Pulis says his West Brom players have got to cut out individual mistakes in order to get the additional points they need to be safe from relegation.

West Brom suffered surprise home defeats against struggling QPR and Leicester in their previous two outings and Pulis has warned that silly errors are undoing their good work.

On Saturday, Albion go to in-form Crystal Palace – with Pulis returning to Selhurst Park for the first time since he left his post as manager of Palace just 48 hours before the start of the season.

Pulis had been named Manager of the Year having taken the Eagles from 19th to 11th after taking over a dozen games into last season.

He refused to be drawn on the reasons for his shock departure but he admitted his time at Palace was as good a job as he has ever done as a manager.

The Baggies boss said he isn’t surprised that Alan Pardew has got Palace playing well but he knows West Brom are capable of mixing it with the best – but they cannot afford to dwell on recent setbacks.

“Everyone is jumping around because we lost to QPR and Leicester and everyone said it was going to be six points,” Pulis said.

“The teams we have to play are top, top teams and we have to perform against them.”

West Brom are on offer at 4.06 to defeat Crystal Palace, available at 1.93, while the draw is at 3.50.

Pulis is confident they have what it takes – if they can reduce the error count.

“The points are there if we play well as a team. We’ve had great results against good teams and we have to get back to not making individual mistakes,” he added.
